Dunmail Country Guest House enjoys an enviable location only a stone's throw from the lake. The rooms at the front enjoy unrivalled views of the lake and all guests can relax in our lounge and watch the water lapping against the rocks at the end of our impeccable private garden.
This carefully preserved building was once a manor house, and was in fact the house chosen for their holidays by the Ruskin family with their prodigious son, John. There can be little doubt that the beauties of this blessed spot contributed not a little to the memorable poem from Ruskin's juvenelia: Iteriad.

Dunmail Guest House has a mix of double rooms (all en-suite) and standard single rooms. You will find these bright and clean with large, firm beds and towels provided. Guests are given their own key so they can come and go as they please. With our well-stocked library of maps and guides, combined with our own detailed knowledge of the area and local events, you will have everything you need to get the most out of a holiday in a part of England that was recently voted the country's best holiday destination.
This version of the Dunmail template has quite a strong patterned background. This can be changed for a different pattern or the background can be left as a plain colour of your choice.
